Why Tanzania is the perfect safari honeymoon
Big skies, private game drives and an island finish. Here is how to plan a Tanzania safari honeymoon that feels like it was made for the two of you.

Wilderness and beach in one trip
Few places pair a world-class safari with a tropical island as easily as Tanzania. In the morning you can watch lions on the Serengeti plains. A short charter flight later, you can be on Zanzibar’s white sand, with the Indian Ocean in front of your villa. For couples, that mix of excitement and rest is what makes a honeymoon here so special.
The moments couples remember
Most couples remember the quiet moments more than the checklist. A sunrise balloon flight over the Serengeti, followed by breakfast in the bush. A picnic for two on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. A lantern-lit dinner under the stars, then a sunset dhow cruise off Zanzibar. With a private vehicle and your own guide, every day runs at your pace, never to a group schedule.
When to go
The long dry season, roughly June to October, is the classic time to go. Game viewing is easy and Zanzibar is warm and sunny. From January to March, the southern Serengeti hosts the calving season, which is a wonderful time to see newborns and predators. The long rains, around April and May, are best avoided for a beach-and-bush trip. Tell us your wedding date and we’ll match the route to the season.
Where to stay
Our honeymoon route stays in intimate, handpicked places: Gran Meliá Arusha for your arrival, Meliá Ngorongoro on the crater rim, Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti with its waterhole-view pool, and a beachfront pool villa at The Residence Zanzibar. Every stay can be changed. Swap a lodge, add a night, or stay longer on the island.
Our honeymoon itinerary
Our Tanzania safari honeymoon is 9 days / 8 nights: Arusha · Ngorongoro · Serengeti · Zanzibar. You can explore every day on the day-by-day itinerary.
